Exceptional architecture requires more than just building design. At Smith+Associates Architects, the practice of architecture occurs at 3 levels: architecture, interior architecture, and master planning.
The design of a space is always influenced by its context: a building by its site; a room by the building that contains it. Our ability to work at a variety of scales allows us to be more effective planners, architects, and interior designers.

Construction Budget: $1.2 million (Typical)

Smith+Associates Architects has worked with Kinney Drugs to develop a prototype design for their stores as well as construction documents and individualized facades for individual stores throughout New York State since 2006. More than 20 Kinney stores have been built from our designs to date. The Tully store won the 2005 American Concrete Institute Central New York Chapter "Design & Installation Awards: Excellence in Masonry Design & Installation" Silver Award.
An important element of our design was to add a visual marketing identifier that would help brand the stores: a blue ribbon was selected, custom designed and added onto each store's corner column. Each blue ribbon center medallion can be customized with the local town's insignia to add ownership to the locale.
