The Imaging Center is located in the sub-basement of Buffalo General Hospital and one of the main challenges faced was to convince staff that the dingy, dreary space could be hospitable and functional. Light and flow are emphasized; for a natural and calming ambiance. Light filled focal points mark transitions with an illusion of skylights created in corridors and waiting rooms. Corridor corners were clipped to make it easier for staff to steer gurneys.
